Tickle Valve Info

Hey guys, I changed the coolant on my 2K dually, and couldn't find the tickle valve to vent the air from the system. I have read in the service manual and in the TDR Register that there is one but I can't find it. Does anyone know where it is? I would think that it would be up high on the engine somewhere, but if there is one it's sure hidden well. Appreciate the help, thanks.

its a one-way valve and doesnt need attending to.



and it is not necessary to run the engine to vent the air while filling it up either. just pour until full

Hey Larry, I checked my manual last night. the valve is located in the front of the head to the left of the by-pass hose AKA heater hose, it has a small ruber line from it to the t-stat housing. the check valve is built into the threaded adapter that is in the head.

Puffin smoke, you gotsta kina pull out and turn counterclockwise at the same time:--) sounds like it could hurt but it worked for me!

Turning or removing the radiator drain cock often tears the o-ring seal on the draincock. Get a new one in anticipation of that, around 11/16" OD, 3/32" thick, and lube with silicone grease (not rtv sealer).
