Test n' Tune, Dyno, Race 4/21-4/23 Gatlinburg, TN

Hey guys,

Just moved to Franklin, VA last fall. Looking for any TDR members in the Tidewater area. I just bought a 12v and would love to talk shop about KDP killing and 12v BOMBing. Thanks!

Chris

Chris,

I no longer live down there, but retired out of the Navy and lived in Hampton until 00. I have done work all through SE Virginia. I know Southampton & Isle of Wight like the back of my hand. I still pass through there a couple of times a month. There are members down that way, but can't think of them right away. Go to the Members Rigs Spotted Forum and look for the Virginia posts.

Mine is a 1st Gen, but I have done my KDP by taking the cover off and mashing the edge of the hole inward. It was also a good thing as the bolts were all loose, so we cleaned and Loctited them before tightening.

There is the Mason-Dixon TDR up in Northern Virginia, Maryland and West Virginia. We have started a smaller club out in the Roanoke area that you are more than welcome to attend. It take me about 3 hours to go from Franklin to Martinsville and another hour up to Roanoke. However, we plan on holding events/meetings in other areas, so some might be closer. Let me know if I can be of assistance.

My email is tugboatphil AT yahoo.com

EDIT - Hey, I just looked at your Gallery. Are you originally from Charleston? I was born in Huntington and grew up in Glenville.

Hey Phil,

Thanks for the invite. I'll have to come see y'all sometime for a meeting. I was born and raised in Charleston, WV. We just moved here last fall. All of my mother-in-law's family lives in and around Glenville. You might even know some of them being that it ain't the big city :) Their last name is Kuhl.

There's several of us in the Tidewater area although we never seem to get together. Check the Virginia topic for others. We really need a local tire kicking session anyway.

I had a '94 and now have the '02 below. I love them both and I do miss the simplicity of the 12V but like the disk brakes and QC of the 24V.

Maybe we can get a message out on the VA page and meet somewhere like Frank's Truck Stop on the south side. It wouldn't be too bad from Franklin. Oo.

There are a few other 12V guys in the NE NC and SE VA area. Let me know when you what to do the KDP. I've done mine already using the jig method. L8tr, Mike

DESL PWR, shoot me an email when you make it up this way.

Dkuhlman, I'm all for setting up a local BS session. Let's try and pick a time a place and make it happen. All else fails maybe we can set up a convoy to one of the SW VA meets.

mstimac, thanks for the offer. I'll send you a PM when I get ready to do it. I'll probably end up going to my brother's place since he has a shop to work in instead of my gravel driveway. He's near Louisburg, NC.
