I hate to beat a dead horse but this is a good one. I went to get my truck(2004.5) aligned and was told my front end neede work. Instead of just replacing parts I went to the local dealer and purchased a new linkage assembly(52122362AL) along with some after market lifetime warranty ball joints. This was 11/1/2016. I took the truck in for the airbag recall today and was told that the tie rod is part of a previous recall. Why the hell is Mopar still selling defective linkage asssemblies? Has anyone else experienced this? Have you purchased new Mopar parts only to be told they are part of a recall?

Mine is mostly Moog of the original style. I ignore em. Haven't figured out how to get the airbag done while having them look past the front end.

The biggest issue with the TieRod ends is the alignment of the drivers side end. The dealer has been insructed to inspect them every time a truck comes in that hasn't been crossed off their inspected check list.

When I had my '07 in for the airbag recall, the simply looked at the front end, signed off, and were done with it.

I understand them wanting to inspect my truck every time it comes in for service or recalls. What is concerning here is that I purchased brand new Mopar parts 2 months ago that need to be services because of a recall from 2009.

I did the 08 Up date kit on my 2005 and my friends 2004 way back when the kit first came out. Not long after they issued a recall for the steering box Tierod end. No biggie got the new part and installed it. Then they issued the alignment notice for the driver's side tierod end. Again quick visit to the dealer and all was good. Flash forward 7 years My truck was traded in but my friend still has his 04 He gets a recall notice for the steering linkage / tierod ends. Now mind you there is almost 200,000 miles on the parts I had installed back in 08 and they were as tight as the day I installed them. They really held up quiet well. RAM decided to replace everything under the recall. My advise don't sweat it. Go down see you'r friendly dealer for the piece of mind let them insect it and enjoy your truck. I'm not saying that there were not a few bad parts that got out. But the number of good ones far out weigh the bad.

One
is not tied to the other. You can decline a recall while getting another one done.In California you will need to have emission and safety recalls done before getting your registration renewed
