Thought I might need to adjust my Luke but the only play I could see was the crossover and tie rod rotating in their sockets. There is no tire movement untill all the play was gone. Turn the wheel the other way and all slop has to be taken out. I've always wondered about indexing one end of each bar in opposite directions to prevent rotation, but never have thinking they might bind wear. Any opinions?

If they are rotating and this causes some slop they just need to be adjusted or replaced. It doesn't seem to me like it would be a good idea to index them opposite so they can't move as something might bind up or wear funny like you said.
