Has anyone ever seen a 2nd Gen. with a forward tilting front doghouse? I was changing my oil in the Dodge and thought it would be so much easier if the truck had a tilting doghouse like the big rig trucks. :) I have seen some gasser show trucks with this done but didn't know if it would be practical to do it with an every day driver. Just thinking outloud. (Yes I do Think, but only about trucks and 4wheelers). :D

Thanks

Bingo

Yep that's what I'm talking about. I know it wouldn't be cheap but could you imagine the looks at the fuel pumps when you tilt that puppy forward to refill the windsheild washer fluid. :D

No Good!

The International I drive at work is that way and it sucks. You still can't get to anything any easier. And you have to come in contact with the tires not matter what you do under there. My . 02 but I think it would be no good

The Ford dump with a 5. 9 that I rented last fall had a tilt. Access was good IMHO. I never saw a tilt hood setup that did not expose you to the tires and frame, etc. That's what coveralls are for.

PS Big D, the term "doghouse" refers to the cover over the engine. Cabover trucks have one big enough to put "shep" in.

Personaly I don't want to put cover alls on to check the oil at a gas station when I am dressed up lol. Its good for big trucks but for our rams it would be just something else that DC would put cheap plastic hinges on. When you open the hood it snaps and falls in the parking lot. And when you show up at the dealer with your trashed hood in the bed they say your PE COMP broke the hinges lol :D

Do an injector change or a valve adjust while standing on a tire or frame rail and see what you think about them lol :D
