Lets see now,

Wayne brings the cable that needs fixing,then get Gene to talk Thunder into bringing his "500HP" Ford,maybe I'll let Wayne drive my sub-300HP truck so he can fix his cable and fix Thunder too. Might be hard on my wallet letting Wayne drive,But,for this kind of a deal I feel he is the ONLY person qualified,no,crazy enough to do it. Now if only I can figure out how to protect my shiny paint in case the cable breaks... LOL. BTW,Wayne,No your truck is not allowed to participate in this style of freestyle pulling as I feel you will need all the clutch and transmission you have for IRP's tacky strip. Its actually in our best interest ,as we,the rest of us there,would hate to have to supervise your transmission/clutch change while you did the work,It might over work us to do that.



One thing I would like to add though. .

I have been to this town and seen the RUDE treatment the local law enforcement is capable of during a big show. The last year the Mopar nationals were there they had the town so clamped down if you sneezed the wrong way you got cited. If you didn't have a motel key they wouldn't let you off the exits and cruising was obliterated. I,myself,have reservations on going back there for any show,heck even this years truck show there was a outside fiasco. One thing I can asure all here is there will be no Lee's Inn style environment outside of IRP,this town will not permit it. The info is out there on how they treated us and its easily found or just ask any Mopar owner who has been to the Nationals,they will tell you why its back at National Trail... ... . Andy

I did some research on what you are talking about Andy and what people forget to mention when talking about the Mopar Nats is that participants were backing up to the hotel doors (only spot with concrete) and doing burnouts two feet from the glass. There were race cars (full blown slicks and chutes) racing on 465. The combination of stupid childish acts of the participants resulted in the police tightening up. I don't blame them for having to shut the on ramps down, as they couldn't catch the cars that were racing they just had to wait for them to come back.

On the other hand, this is why I am working so hard on having on site camping. They seem to not mind a few in promptu burnouts and such within the facility. There is a difference in having fun and being a danger to others. I am also working on setting up a restaurant in the area to host our Friday night fun.

Maybe we will have to come up with other forms of non-race car vehicular entertainment. My favorites:



* Nitro Powered Spud Guns.

* Dry Ice in empty 2 Liter pop bottles (don't try this at home)

* Bonfires with "interesting" stuff thrown in (propane tanks, etc... )

* Pumpin Launching (non-nuclear power only)



***And our personal favorites, Rental Car Drifting Contests, Rental Car Burnout Contests, and Rental Car Return Counter Poker Face "it was like that when I rented it" , "don't bill my insurance company for the flat spotted tires or other interesting damage" Contest.....

The only "rules" I've been told that apply to staying on site is to stay off the tracks, and no fires. That leaves it pretty open. The westside of Indy is chock-full of gentleman clubs, night clubs and country bars. There is plenty to do for night life.

I'm game for a winner drinks for free race to the 500 museum and back, remember I have 2. 92's, lol.

Very cool, where they had the mechanical bull they turned it into a rock and roll bar. I have a call into them to host a dieselhead party or some type of fun for us to attend! More to come.

I've seen that picture before and it hits home for several reasons:

1. I've been there... done that. (recently at the Seefood Challenge!)
   
2. The bystander's t-shirt says "FITCHBURG" - my alma mater and old stomping grounds... provided it is the same 'Fitchburg'.
