NEW towing experience! Long, hope you enjoy, I did.

Need Opinion's on a/c

Myself and a couple of friends of mine are trying to decide what helper springs would be better. For myself I already have the camper special package so I am leaning towards the Timbrens.

I also noticed that the Timbrens have two different model numbers one is for a 2500 and the other is for 2500HD.

All thoughts on the above items would be appreciated.

One more thing, who has the best price on the above items?

Thanks

Go to stuff4trucks.com and email them for a price on Timbrens for your Dodge. They don't list the prices for Dodges on their website but they quoted me 155 including the shipping. I received them last week but have not yet installed them. The next best price I found was 208 plus 8 bucks for shipping. You need the ones for the 2500 HD I am pretty sure.

Check out www.truckspring.com. They have Timbren, Air Lift, and Firestone. I was cross referencing a Timbren number yesterday on their site and I seem to remember seeing prices in the mid $140's range.

Hope this helps!

:) :) :)

I have the Timbrens on my '03 and like them as much as air bags. They are less fuss and there is nothing to go wrong with them and as far as I can see, indestructable.

I just bought a set of Timbrens for my '03. At least for the '03 model year, the difference between the two is that the one for the 2500HD (which the Timbren site says is for the 4" diameter axle) has a longer rubber spring and has preload. The non-HD leaves a gap between the rubber and the axle. I didn't want to affect my empty ride quality so I went with the non-HD version even though I have the 4" diameter axle.

Now that I said all that, I went to the Timbren site to look at the two kits for your model year 4x4 and they are very different. The DR1525H4 (2500 version) looks like it is supposed to have a gap and, when loaded, rides on the axle. The DR3500 (for the 3500, 2500HD) has a plate that u-bolts to the axle for the spring to ride on and I can't tell if it is preloaded or not (but I suspect it is). Oh well, guess you'll have to call.

I like my Timbrens.

My dad liked the design (no fuss no adjustments) and ride while towing the trailer so much he bought a rear set for his Chevy 1/2 ton gasser. When not hauling a load the ride is unaffected. Now one of his neighbors has also bought a set.

I had/have Timbrens Load boosters

I have/had an old set I bought a couple of years ago for a previous truck and they were the HD one's. Due to the static load in the bed of tool box and fuel tank mine touched all the time giving a horrible ride but when loaded good ride and looked very legal > level in the rear, since have gotten a set of mystery aileron's? on spelling that are much shorter and don't affect ride at all but still help out when loaded heavy. If I could find a set just the right height I would use them on another truck in a second.

I have the 9,000 lb. Timbrens on my 3500 dually and always have enough of a load for the Timbrens to touch the axle. The ride is truly horrible; so much so, that my wife thought something was terribly wrong the first time she rode in the truck after installation. She can read but no longer can do needle point. We're going to the mountains in a couple of weeks, be pulling a 30 ft. travel trailer and as usual our combined gross weight will be 22 or 23,000 lbs. If the ride is as bad loaded as it is empty, I'll have to go to air bags to keep the wife happy. I hope air bags will bring the ride back to something approaching stock
