My '96 has a set of airbags the previous owner installed, probably 20 yrs ago. They no longer hold pressure. Thanks all for your input.

I had a '97 that had Timbrens on it.....if you are loaded all the time they work perfectly....empty, not so much...terrible ride as there was very little distance between the Timbren and the axle housing by design....a frost heave would literally dribble the rear of the empty truck as the Timbren bounced off the axle....

Air bags for me....

Fixing them is your cheapest and most versatile option.

It’s likely just a bad shrader valve or two.

If airbags can carry 10k on my four rear tires and provide a nice ride unloaded on my 15 DRW they will work on your tucks.

Had PacBrake bags on my 11 with Bilstien's, incredible difference.

If you dont want air bags for some reason then Sumo Springs would be a better option IMO them Timbrens as you can get them in different rates and have a much softer engagement.

I'm always the odd man out on the Timbren question. I much prefer them to airbags since most airbag kits are cheap junk that always leak, especially in the cold where I live. The Timbrens are very nice as they are zero maintenance. The mistake most folks seem to make is they will pick the HD variant and it destroys the ride. My 2500's with airbags ride like crap even with minimal pressure. The Timbren standard kit blocks don't even touch so they do not affect ride quality unless loaded. YMMV as they say. I really like putting the Timbrens on the front of my plow trucks too.

I installed Timbrens on my '99 and took off the auxilary overloads. I struggled with the crappy ride until I insisted they send me their lowest durometer springs in the length I needed. This finally allowed the Timbrens to work well for me.
