Timbren Rubber Overload Springs

I'm getting a new truck in a couple of weeks. Has anyone had any experience with, or have any comment about the Timbren rubber overload springs. They work in place of the inflatable rubber air bags and require no action or effort when used. I took the stock overloads off of my '99 2500 and replaced them with the Timbren system and I thought they worked great. It got rid of that annoying thump on every bump. I also carry a 3500 lb Lance camper and It seemed to handle just fine. I'm going to put them on my new truck unless I'm talked out of it. Thanks for any comment. Don

I have and use Timbren Load boosters

I first baught the "right" set from a spring shop and installed them on 2 previous trucks and current one also on all the trucks the load boosters made contact all the time making ride very very rough but the truck never squats at all when heavy/over loaded. But after a while I couldn't take the horrable ride any longer and did some research and found different rubber bushings rated for less weight but it rides better and still supports some weight and has 3/4 of an inch clearance between stop and rubber. I like them now I would put them on another truck if needed farly cheap compared to air bags or extra springs installed in spring pack.

go to 'search forums' a white icon in the members only feature, then type in 'timbren' and also do one for 'air bags' and 'lift bags' you can find out all kinds of information. I have just received my Timbrens but have yet to put them on. Seems like they cost a lot of money for a hunk of rubber.



I chose Timbrens over the air/lift bags for simplicity I like the KISS (keep it simple stupid) method. Although I like my 03' it would be nice to have one of those early 12-valves, not much to go wrong.

I had air springs on my 98. 5, liked them and went to the Timbrens on my '03. I made the change because of the no drill installation and no compressor. The Timbrens ride above the axle when there is no load and have absolutely no effect on the no load ride. Here is a picture of what they look like empty.

My '02 came without the factory overloads, so I installed the Timbrens, really like'em.
