Time for an auto transmission

Got to an age where will need wife's help during long distance trips. Currently have 03 with 6 speed manual. Always had manual. Wife wants automatic transmission. Getting new wife not a solution. what to do? Neighbor has Chevy Duramax with Allison. Wife likes it. Giving wife to neighbor not a solution either. Some back issue of TDR has article of comparison of Chevy/Ford/Ram and Ram did not always come ot on top. What to do? Try to buy a used 4th Gen?

A trade for a duradud is no more a solution than a divorce. Find a nice Dodge-Cummins automatic you both like.

I had a 1997 5 spd and a 2005 6 spd. I traded the 05 for a used 2011 auto and am very happy with the truck. The new 6spd auto is a good transmission and holds up well, ay least better than the earlier 4 spd autos. As much as I hate to admit is sure is a lot easier than having to shift all the time, and a lot quicker off the line.
