well, i have finally installed my 191's and 215 injectors... runs great but now it bends the keedle on my boost guage. I think my wastgate is frozen/broken. even before the upgrades it would peg over 42psi. have i finally gone to far to use the stock trubo? would the 14cm wastegated housing with a new wastgate actuator still help or am i beating a dead hoarse? any opinions? i have been lokking at the b1 and... . ? THANKS FOR THE HELP

No, these aren't the signs of a new turbo... Excessive play on the turbo shaft and constant turbo barking might be better indicators. Also, oil leaking out of the turbo shaft or intercooler blow tub might be signs the turbo is in trouble.
From your post, just looks like you are pushing high boost for stock trubo and that sooner or later something else will go, like turbo, HG, or ??? Good luck. Keep lighter on the right foot for longevity :D

i would do a new turbo cause past 35lbs and your pushing your luck. it could gernade at any time really. if you want my advice get a new turbo fairly soon better to replace it before this one blows

A new housing with an operable wastegate will slove your boost problems, the EGT's however are another issue. I found that with my stock turbo (which also had a failed gate) I would regulate the boost with my right foot. When I saw the needle swing to 35, I would let off. Obviously that cuts way down on the fun factor so i opted for a 14cm gated housing. Boost is now monitored at 34 with the gate but since I stay in it longer I now see the EGT's soaring up to 1200plus. Thats with stock DV's and injectors.

You're putting a lot of fuel through for a stock HX35. Does it bark when you let off after a hard acceleration? If so, you might want to remove the silencer ring. While you're looking in there, check for any scoring or scratches from the compressor wheel hitting the insides of the housing.

Check for in and out and side to side shaft play. If it has scratched just a little, you could probably port the area around it and be OK. When ported correctly, you won't have any more bark. I never hear mine anymore. If there is too much movement, you may get away with just replacing the thrust bearing or something simple and not have to replace your turbo, which was the case with mine.

If you still smoke hard and run hot, you would probably be much happier with a bigger turbo, or you can just detune a little. Personally, i can't stand having turbo lag so i'm planning to add a second turbo under the hood. I'm running more fuel than you, but my ported HX35 does a good job up to a point. The 14 housing would only be a bad idea if you think you'll out grow it soon.
