I know it’s hard when you can’t hear it in person but I'm just looking for some suggestions on what else to check.

For the last month I have had a noise that sounds like a chatter/vibration and it’s slowly getting worse. I hear it when I slowly take off or back up, but if I push in the clutch it will continue to make the noise briefly. It will only make noise on that initial release of the clutch(1st or 2nd gear and reverse), I can shift through the rest of the gears and not hear anything. There has also been 2 or 3 time that I have put it in neutral got out to do something and it starts to make the noise and continued to make it as long as I let it sit there.

My first thought was that either the throughout or the pilot bearing were going bad. So today I pulled the transmission to replace them but they both spun smooth and had plenty of grease left. The clutch seems to still hold fine but it does show signs of wear. There is a . 005" deep wear groove in the flywheel but nothing on the pressure plate. (Pics below)

The transmission spins freely by hand, all the flywheel and pressure plate bolts were still torqued to the right specs. I took the belt off and spun the alternator, AC compressor, and water pump which all felt good and quiet.

What else could be making this noise?
