I update my Ball Joints upper and lower and tie road ends with grease able ones using MOOG components, also replacing the Drag Link. I had a failure of the Drag Link joint on the RH side of the truck as looking forward from the steering wheel at 81,000 Miles. I am old school and just believe that grease able components are better than greased for life. Whose life?
I stayed with the older style Dodge steering linkage design from 2004.5 to 2007 model years on my 08, at the time of my update to the ball joints. I am very familiar with this style, since I have had this on my Jeeps and older trucks that I have owned. I did go in for the recall N62 NHTSA 13V-528 at 70,000 miles and the dealer said the truck did not require the fix so hence I have kept this style of steering linkage on my truck.
