It depends a lot on the amount of boost you are running. If it is a stock motor and relatively low boost, you can go up to 23-24 degrees. If you are making a lot of boost on a stock head gasket then something like 16-17 degrees is good.
I have 0 plate, 370 injectors, dd jammer turbo, 5inch exhaust air intake 4gsk, supposed to be wastageted at 40lbs, just got it still breakin it in, whats the highest timing i should run with a stock head gasket
With a 160 pump you need 181 or 191 delivery valves first, 19* will kill your lower end. You need to get the fuel to the injectors and the stock DV's are to small on the 160 pump.
With your fueling I would definately consider timing it around 18-20*. Mine is set to ~25* currently but I am also O-ringed. Yours should do fine at or right below 20*. You might lose a fraction of bottom end but nothing too noticeable.
BTW, my theory on break-ins, drive it how you intend to use it. That's how you break something in
Well running an HX-40/18 gives me a little bottom-end lag. But for just driving with traffic it is just effortless. If I ever race someone(rare on the street) I just drop the selector into first and do it manually. I ran it like it is with my stock -35, and like I said it was barely noticeable to me. It was there but I wasn't about to trade what I gained mid- and top-end for a few HP down low.
What turbo and housings are you using? With the automatic if the turbo spools too slowly you will never get the low end, because of too much fuel and not enough air at the lower end. Too much timing will increase the problem. That is the reason for twins.
