timing a 1st gen

what is the easiest way to adjust the pump timing. any help would be great.

i know my friend has a 1st gen and i'm trying to help him with it

The closer the AFC is too the intake the more advanced the timing is. Index finger wide way stock narrow way 15. 5 degrees or so. The First gens have a cold start advance (KSB Solenoid) that advances the timing when the truck is cold for easier starts and less smoke at startup. Do a search and find out how to do it.

I hate to say it but, do a search on "timing" titles only on the first gen forum and theres more info than you'll ever need.
