Suffering the KDP blues :( does anyone know if the Timing gear housing on the 12 valve is interchangable with a 24 valve housing?

Thanks

I have seen a few family truck photos in TDR this photo was taken at our family Christmas gathering this year three generations with five generations of Cummins power there the 1929 Autocar on the left has the first supercharged Cummins ever produced and it hauls the 1935 Mack on the left has an early 8. 3 the rest you all know my grandfathers 1988 to my baby brothers 2005 in order

I am curious to this also... My best guess is no, it looks as if the 24v case is raised a little where the pump mounts and the 12 valve doesn't, I just wonder if there is enough material there you could mill the face down and redrill it for a P7100. Also makes ya' think how they put P7100's on 24 valve trucks. . ??? Marc

no the 12v and 24 v cases are different. . the 24v case the same as ave early rotary pump case ie first gen case and 24 case can interchange. . the p7100 case is different. and a8. 3L case is differnt also . . the pump gets a oil feed from the front.

thanks

Thats definitely for a 24 valve, mine looks different than that.

I beg to differ, this is the block side view and it has a timing pin hole, which I believe the 24v does not have. Ask the seller for more info, I'm almost sure this is for a 12v. And $40 is much better than the $230 I paid to Cummins :{
