Looking for someone in the central PA area that would want to check and set my pump timing for me? I dont care if I have to drive a few hours and I dont care if your a diesel shop or a DIY'r with the tools. I would like to get it checked and probably advanced. Will pay cash or beer... . LOL :-laf I just cant find a shop locally that works on the B's that I trust. PM me if you can help me out. I've been putting this off way too long.

Thanks

Chris

I got my timing done by S&M diesel. I'm in harrisburg and it takes me about 1 hour to get there going north up route 15.

Best thing is the price, they are $52 an hour flat rate. Took the guy 45 minutes to do my timing so I paid $36 to have it done! He probably could have done it in 30 minutes but I was chatting with him a lot.

Thanks guys, that gives me a good place to start. Looks like S&M is gonna be the closest, not to mention reasonable. The International shop in Lewistown wanted $150 to do it. I thought that was rediculous.

Chris,

I just went to Carson Stauffer which is also S&M. Nice to deal with. I met him and another TDR member at the Huntingdon County Fair Pull last Saturday. I wanted to bump my timing a bit for the higher rpms, but they seemed to think I was running out of fuel. Turns out I had 10psi of fuel. Replaced the overflow valve and back to 25-30 psi plus we still did some timing. They like their powerstrokes, but have done a fair number of cummins conversions and other things. Lots of knowledge and good prices. Phone number is 570-539-2241. They will be coming to the Grange pull this Friday the 25th. Send me a pm if you want more info.

I haven't personally... YET. The only thing keeping me away is the 2 and a half hour drive. I stopped in for some advice before buying my truck and when I had my Peterbilt. The owner is a mutual friend...

I've never heard a negative comment about the shop. Bruce, the owner is in very tight with Mark Chapple, retired Cummins engineer and owner of TST. Pittsburgh Power is basically a TST PMCR for the big rigs.

I used Diesel inj. 2yrs ago for my timing and a valve job. Was an ok price, i think like 225 with all new valve cover gaskets. #6 started leakin a year ago tho, I havent had a chance to fix it or get back there, they said they`d fix it. Otherwise, good service and a good shop.

dunno about pricing now tho. .

Where abouts are you CGomulka
