I have a 2005 and i'm looking for a module that only changes timing to give better mileage. I don't want to increase rail pressure because of the excelerated wear on the injectors. Idk about duration yet. Will it hurt longevity? Any ideas?

I use the Smarty on my 01 for that very purpose. With the large injectors and a separate fueling box I can control timing and fueling individually. Timing only gives me the best drivability (I can even use the cruise control) and the best mileage by about . 5 mpg over any other settings.

I haven't had much luck . Running Smarty on "economy" and timing is full advance along with running Rokktech still no mileage gains noticable. I will try a valve adjust and maybe move the Rokktech to the cam sensor that is supposed to be X2 advance.

What do the engineers at "Smarty" reccomend? I would think a novice trying to adjust timing & duration, without sufficient testing instrumentation, is flying blind. If you trust Smarty with your engine, why not ask their advice for your application?

I find Banks Engr. has most intelligent customer support. Try them for a question.

Good luck & travel safe.

If you have a stock truck you would probably "grenade" the trans in the 3 position other than that you really can't hurt these engines. I run full timing advance with a Rokktech and I have no timing rattle so go figure . I glad you think Banks support is excellent most guys on here will beg to differ with you. In regards to instrumentation it's up to us to have this on our trucks when you start hot rodding these things. Most guys don't want a pressure box per what hobigusn is thinking is correct then the relief valve starts leaking by. Good luck all

You might try Edge. Do some home work by checking on all of them out there TST is a good one also. Call and talk to all the teck's about what you want! All so the price if you spend a bunch of money jest thank how much fuel you could by!
