I have a ’96, and want to set the timing at 15. 5 to 16 degrees. I do not have the tools.

If someone is interested in a BOMBing party, or interested in setting the timing for a nominal fee, let me know.

Within 100 miles of Sacto is preferred.

So far, I have received one PM from a fellow about three to four hours away. Long way to travel, but reasonable price and a reputation for doing good work.

If others in the Sacramento area are interested, please chime in. This might serve as an incentive for someone with the tools and knowledge.

I don't know if I should be happy or disappointed being the only 12 valver in the Sacramento area that still has stock timing. It appears know one else is interested.

I guess I will have to drive about two or three hours to get it done. At least the fellow willing to do it has a good reputation and is reasonably priced. I guess no one local other than a shop is interested.

Timing Party

Count me in Wayne. We talked about a Timing party a few weeks ago at the Dyno runs in Sacramento. Sounds like a really good idea to me. I don' believe that I have the skills necessary to do the timing on my own.

You might try Collins Diesel in Stockton; they do timing as well as setting the pumps up to correct specs etc. To set the pump up and time it etc. , runs about $600. Timing alone I don't have any idea, but should be WAY cheaper.
