I have the 03 Q-Cab an the rear door windows an rear back glass has the factory tint as most of the trucks do. Has any one had their's tinted darker. We have a new 2004 crewcab PS company truck at work an the rear door glasses an back rear glass was done in the limo tint (5%) an it is dark. Although the company truck came without the factory tint. Do you think the (5%) or the (20%) would be too dark especially for night driving (might help some on the tailgaters though). Would like it so you could not see in at all in the back section of the cab. As far as I know it's legal in Texas on the rear doors an back glass, drivers an passengers allowable is the (35%) tint.

Tint

I have my back Windows Tinted with the limo tint, I like it alot, only thing you need to have the felt wiper TSB done are it well scratch the tint. I know cause mine has scratches in it. WILDMAN.

I had the TSB done on the drivers an passenger windows an the dealership did replace the scratched aftermarket tint (free of charge). Are you also talking about the rear door windows being scratched too. Does that felt need to be replaced also.

I have though about, but not followed through with, adding tint to mine as well.

My plan was to add the same as the factory tint to all side and rear windows. That would leave the front legal and the rear darker.

Now, I'm concerned of the scratching, I've never had any problem with that before ... ... ... ..... whats up?

I tinted mine with the 20% over the factory tint. IT really made it nice, it is dark enough that you cant really see in the rear windows unless you are right next to the truck trying to. But looking out the windows is not too much darker than the factory.

My truck was tinted by the dealer before I even saw the truck (bought off the lot).

Since you're in N Texas, you might try asking Rockwall Dodge what tint levels they use.

Tony T I have had my back windows tinted for about 4 mos. and they are scratched, I would look in to having the back felt done before you tint them, that is my next plan WILDMAN

Thanks for the replies from everyone. An Wildman I'll check with my dealership before I have the rears tinted to see if they would replace rear felt also.

I have 5% all around and a Leer 100XQ, AND MAN, that suckers dark inside! Driving at night, I used to roll the window down when pulling out into traffic, but now I I'm used to it, and it doesn't bother me. It sure stays WAY cooler inside now, and the leather doesn't burn the a$$ anymore!

-If you do tint your rear window 5%, I'd recommend some reverse lights. They HELP a LOT!

Tony, I used 35 on the front doors and 20 over factory tint for the back doors and back window. If you want to see mine, holler at me and you can look.

i Have mine tinted in the back and rear sides 5% on top of factory tint I have the front doors 20% and my whole front windshield is also tinted 20% it looks great plus it protects dash and seats from sun and heat it also keeps glare out of eyes. cops can't tell because they see the difference in the 2 side windows so they think they are legal plus they never look to even think about the front it looks great too

What about those of us with the rear defroster, can you still tint the back glass deeper and still use it? Sorry if it's a dumb question but I've been wondering about darkening it myself but figured the heat from the defrost wouldn't be good for it???

you will be fine with defrosters it doesnt come into play unless you have to have tint removed there is a different process so you dont mess up defrosters on glass

What TSB is it and does it apply to the 2004 Quad Cab 3500 SRW short bed HO 4x4?? I've looked at the TSB on this site but nothing about the felt wiper??

Tsb??

Planning to tint my windows soon but I can't seem to find the TSB for the window wiper felt. I was wondering if it applies to the 2004 3500 quad cab srw 4x4??
