I received my DuraFlaps today and they are quality made and look good. The only problem wasa that the front fender wheel liner is curves away from the tire in the location you need to use a flat piece and 1/4"-20 x 1" bolts. The bolts don't reach the nut with the flat plate against the back of the wheel liner. A recommendation from DuraFlap was to cut a strip of the wheel liner to allow it to come forward to the flap. No Way!!!

I went to a home improvement place and bought a 1/4"-20 x 1 1/2" stainless bolts just like the ones that come with the DuraFlap front kit. They worked like a charm allowing the nut to go on. Once tightened, they pull the DuraFlap and wheel liner together.

Another thing is the upper screw. There is no factory screw in this factory hole, because the wheel liner is cut out behind the hole. This doesn't allow the U-clip to be attached to the wheel liner. Instead I attached the U-clip to the metal on the fender so it lined up with the hole. This allows the top screw to work.

Once I did the above two things a little different from the instructions, I had a good installation.

Your talking about the Kaydenco DuraFlaps, right?

I just drilled the top hole for the attach screw through the inner fender, then installed the tinnerman clip. I also redrilled the lower hole for the bolt and plate thingy. There is no way it was going to line up on my inner fender properly without doing so. The rears went on a lot smoother except the stock holes need to be enlarged to 1/4". I like the flaps but for the price they get, the instructions and install could be a lot better.

Yes, they are the Kaydenco DuraFlaps.

I agree with your ideas also. I found I did not have to enlarge any of the holes on the rear as they were fine. I thought about redrilling the flap a little higher than the stock hole to allow a better grip on the wheel liner with the flat plate. If it somehow slips loose, I will do that.
