I have an '06 3500 that I purchased new, that now has 137,xxx miles on it. Since '09 it is on it's third tipm due to the left headlite failing. Dealer blamed it on bright box, so I disconnected it after first replacement. Failed again and again they blamed it on the brite box and I told them it was disconnected, so third one has been in for around a year, and now I have no trailer running lights. I found a 30 amp fuse blown, replaced it, but still no trailer running lights! Is there something else that can cause this, or is is the tipm again? I have a buddy that had an '03 and he says he had to have the dealer "reset" his tipm before. Any truth to this? Thanks for any and all advice!

My '06 was acting up over the summer, no running lights on trailer, all fuses checked ok. I went to the dealer to get the tipm reset, was told 2 week wait due to backlog of trucks just for the reset. Set the date, went back to work, plugged in trailer, thought I saw a spark, took a look around, lo and behold, bad left front running light ground on the trailer!

Long story just to say check your trailer grounds, but I hope it helps. I realize you blew a 30, just trying to offer a suggestion. Good luck, I hope it's something inexpensive and easy.
