Looking for a First Generation for my dad

Suspension/fabrication shops in N. Cal

Hello All...

Bought an 06 2500 about a month ago. Prior owner had installed an after market radio, ( which was crap), and fog light needed to be repaired. After repairs I noticed all check lights on, odometer not working nor was the cruise control. Taking it to the shop they informed me the TIPM went out. I had hoped it was the speed sensor but the shop man said no. So how was I to know otherwise? Anyway, $1100 bucks later I drove it home.

I have the OLD TIPM. Is it worth anything? Can it be repaired?

Oh, forgot. I had a gooseneck hitch and trailer light hook up put in. The guys doing it said they had received a notification from Dodge that the hookup must be done right or it would fry the control module. This was done BEFORE the radio repair about a week later.

So... . can anyone advise if there is a way to wire or rewire stuff on this truck without having to add on $1100 bucks each time for a new TIPM?

Thanks.

Randy

On my slide in camper I insisted on a long pig tail from the back of the truck to the front of the camper. I wanted no splicing on the factory harness. Anything I've added over . 2amp has been fused/relayed (rock lights). The smaller items have only a fuse. I've been meant to put together an extension of about 8". In the middle would be 7 inline fuses. There was a guy on a local board that rerouted his entire rear 7 blade output to a plastic box above the spare tires. Inside the box was battery hot feeding some relays. The truck output became a trigger only (very little load).
