TIPM failure

DodgeRam1 had the TIPM failure, and wanted to know how to prevent this from happening again. In a previous issue of TDR suggested that you change your right and left trailer turn light fuses from a 15 amp to a 10 amp. The reason is to make the fuse the weak link instead of the TIPM. It works on my 2003. I have had a 10 amp blow and no problem. Fix the trailer problem, replace the fuse and carry on.

Good info but there's no TIPM in your 03.

No TIPM in an 03, not the same system as the trucks with a TIPM. Best thing you can do for both systems is install a break out box for all trailer connections.

Tipm was introduced in 06 models. 03 has pdc with an attached FCA
