Going hunting in Maine in november and got a couple cans of fix a flat. Lots of sharp shale up there. Need a compressor thats pretty quick in case I pop a Toyo, but don't want to break the bank. Ideas?
Good = $$ Cheap = dissapointment.
Engine mounted, I'd get a york 8cfm and a tank.
Electric I'd get an Oasis (basically a york driven by a high output electric motor)
We have a viair 450C on one of our jeeps as a test piece and it does OK. It would be useless without a tank even though it is 100% duty cycle. Nothing like the york under the hood of my jeep though: 35 in Mudders from 4psi to 35psi in less than a minute. 6CFM @ 120PSI at 3500 RPM no tank. I run air tools at idle, except a die grinder. Die grinders are the air equivalent of a blow dryer to houshold electric.
Again my caution is don't go cheap, you'll regret it.
