Heres a question for the tire guys (or whoever has 2c worth)-

I had a discusion {}with a friend who insists on LR E tires for load/trailer capacity. I found some tires (BFG & PROCMP 305/70) that I liked in LR D with comparible wieght capacity as a LR E. I figure that if two rear tires carry over 7000# than I am probably alright. What is the advantage or disadvantage to E when D will carry just as much weight? :p

To put it simply, E rated tires have 2 more plys than a D rated tire, and they have stiffer sidewalls to provide more side-to-side stability.
