Tire load rating....

I am interested to get opinions on whether or not a Load Range "C" rated tire is ok to pull a 5-6 K camper. I know the ideas is to have a "D" or "E" load range but..... What do you think? I think the 1/2 tons that haul campers are probably "C" from the factory ( I may be wrong ) Let me know what you all think. Thanks

There is nothing worse than a dead battery or a flat tire! Buy good stuff, D=ok, E=mo'better.

C=bad idea. Sidewall rigidity is too low w/ max PSI.

I have C's on mine and pull 6K with no trouble. I keep them at 50 psi. They are rated for 2755 lbs ea.



Is it a good idea? I don't think so, I had ordered these for a lighter Hemi that was never delivered, couldn't return them so gave them a try on the CTD and so far at 24K miles they are doing real well. I really like the tire but the numbers don't add up so for safety sake I will look for E's next time or at the bare minimum D's
