I know this is really going to sound stupid but, How do you check the tire pressure on the rear duals of the 3500's #ad
? The valve stems are mounted on the inside of the outer wheel and the outside of the inner wheel??? #ad
Also, It seems as though it may be worth getting the stem extenders that mount to the wheel covers, any thoughts here?

You need a truck type air gauge, availible at any auto parts. You can also check and add air at any truck stop, they have the chuck you need. The valve extenders will throw your wheels off balance and the extra leverage has been known break off valve stems. It's much better to use the correct style chuck and gauge.

Hey I had to find mine too a while back. Your back tires already have some small extentions on them, so you can use the back side of a truck tire gauge (the two angle jobs). I went up to a truck stop and got I very good gauge that has a dial and hold the pressure reading till you release it it is very convienent. They are really pretty easy to check. Note for later remind who ever does rotation or any other work when removing your rear tires to get those two stems lined up, it makes it alot easier to them.

Shouldn't have to remove the simulators unless they are installed in the wrong position and block access to the tire vales.

yea, DO NOT use the valve extenders. I did, some how they got wrapped up and pulled the valve stem right out of the tire. Not good on a hot July day, got a quick lesson on how to jack her up and change tire though!

How did you like the three in one use- spinner handle?
I put a sawed off (aprox 2') fence pole under rear seat, so I can slide it over handle. This keeps it from severing my hand off in the middle while loosening lug nuts(also extension for more leverage).
Using handle by it self for jack and pulley for spare is not to bad.

Missouri Mule, good idea I'll have to try it. Bought a combination hammer pry bar, (soft rubber mallit on one side with a pry bar on the other), for R&R trim rings. Now if I could just find a decent jack, the factory one is ok except you have to turn it for 3 hours just to get it up to the axle. had an floor jack rated at 3500 puonds, but with any load it is under rated, larger rated jack would be to big!?

from your signiture your not to far from where I am. Mabey I'll pass you one day?

If you leave your caps off you run the risk of dirt collecting in the valves, the next time you add air you can inject the dirt in which can keep the valve from sealing, giving you a leak. It's a good idea to let a little blast of air out of the tire before adding air to clean out the valve stem.

I don't know if they changed it since I got mine , but the factory used short extensions with no threads on the end for a cap to screw on to. The way the extension is designed the only way to get dirt in the valve would be if the dirt was packed in the business end of the air hose.

I've been using valve extenders for some time with no problems. A friend of mine with a phord has been using them for several years with no problems. Makes checking pressure easy, just my . 02.

Yes, remove the simulators on the rear!
It took me 3 years to realize this one:
The hand hole in the wheel IS big enough to get your hand into to get the valve stem cap off. It help line up the angle for the gauge and chuck. The hole in the simulator is too small (for most) to actually reach in and remove the caps.
Try it, it's alot easier.
Also-I notice that these tire change air pressure alot when the temp outside drops. All 6 tires dropped about 12 psi in 2 months.
