Competition Dyno'ed today

Competition cp3 pumps are out

I plan to make a trip to the local 1/8 mile tomorow night for their teen night or whatever thing going on probably just a bunch of 10 second imports. any way its my first time to go to the track since the twins have been put on and i am really hoping to break into the 8s. my truck is a 2wd no posi 3. 54 rear end, its also a single cab and weighs in at 5980 with me and a full tank. on the street i cant build but about 2 psi of boost before breaking the tire loose. oh i have 33 12. 5 16. 5 BFG mud terrains. what presssure would you recomend bringing the rear tires too, also should i run with a full tank or leave it low thanks alot

ok well anyway i got so freaking close 9. 01 at 79 mph with a 2. 4 second 60 ft was the best i could get i guess a posi would make all the difference in the world

when i had my old dakota i would drop to about 15 psi. it always hooked up for me then. you want the largest footprint you can get. the mud terrains dont have a good contact though, big voids. but try taking it down 5 psi at a time, do a little burnout and look to see what it looks like, if its still really dark in the middle let more out, but if you start to get black strips at the edges, its to low. in short you want a nice and even across the asfault graffiti you are laying down. i hope this info will help you, let me know how it works out

I had the same setup on the chassis as you way back in the day. Here's what worked for me...

Get a good sticky set of tires... DOT Mickey's or some DOT Hoosier's

The truck will usually favor the "one tire fire" on particular side most of the time. Mine was the right side all the time. Run the pressure in the side that spins on the low side, causing more resistance to hold that tire from spinning. On the tire that does nothing but sit there and watch it's brother go up in flames run about 50% greater pressure than the traction tire.

When the lower inflated tire gets the power, it will stick causing the power to "float" over to the other axle. That tire will want to break free sooner. By the time all this happens, you are usually moving along pretty good.

With this setup at 450hp on a small single, i could leave with about 5psi, and smash it into the carpet and pull a 1. 8 60ft... and for an open diff that's not too shabby.

Have fun and happy racing!

that sounds like an idea i dunno about shelling out for some street slicks but i do have a bald set of bfg MTs i might could experiament with but i would eventually like a detroit locker or a posi of some sort. Thanks for the help by the way drag diesel how did you get 570 HP out of a 160 pump

If you like swapmeets, keep an eye out... i got my last set of BFG Drag Radials for 50 bucks... that's $25 each so you don't have to go looking for your calculator :-laf
