i have a srw 2500 with 265/70/19. 5 yokohama ty303's on rickson steel wheels that i just put on my truck. i seem to have a lot of sway in the rear of the truck when lane changing and such. my question is, what pressure do most people run when the truck is not loaded. the tire says 120psi. they seem to do great with my enclosed trailer with around 800lbs. tounge weight on it. when the trailer is not on the truck, you can see that only the very middle of the tread is actually touching the ground. honestly, my 37" bfg mt tires felt safer than these. i feel like if i had to make a sudden move the truck might spin out! any info would be great!

Are the tires new? If so what is the tread depth? I have Toyo's 19. 5 The new tread depth was 28/32. They wandered quite a bit when they were new. They are at 50% tread now and dont wander as much.

A Little Better

the tires are about 50% tread. i have not measured them. i have cut the air pressure back to 70 in the front and 50 in the back. it seems to drive ALOT better with the lower pressure. i had a friend following me when it had just stopped raining and he said that the only part of the tire that was dry was about 3 inches right in the middle. with 50 the tire rests across the entire tire width. do you have any recomendations when hauling the trailer as far as tire pressure. i put these tires on to help with a sway problem i was having with the bfg's. with 110 rear pressure it handles very well with very little sway or movement at 60mph.

Sounds like you've found a good place for them now. You'll probably want to up teh pressure in the rears when you get it loaded, 110 may be extreme but try something near 90. If you liked it better at 110, bump them up. Just play with it till you find a pressure that you feel good with. I don't see any reason to get higher than 70-80 in the fronts.
