Here is a formula I was given from an old four-wheeler magazine. The amount of air in a tire is directly related to the max weight allowed and the max psi. This is to say that if a tire is rated to carry 2000 pounds at 80 psi then you would inflate the tire to 80 psi if it is carrying 2000 pounds. If the tire is only carrying 1000 pounds than that is 50% of the tires rating and should be 50% of the max psi or 40 psi in this case. You need to weigh your truck to find out how much weight is on each tire and calculate this out for proper wear. I have used this rule for years and always had good luck. I hope it helps someone out there.
