I have 265 -70-17's I have a chance to get a New Set of 245-70-17's I know there is a 1 inch difference in height what other problem's do you think I would run into I am in Dire need of tires and just can't swing a Grand for 265's Any Idea's#@$%!#@$%!

Hey Mark my biggest problem is the only thing it's going to cost me for the 245's is mounting how can you pass that up ?

if you need tires and they're free I'd go for it, negatives will be your speedometer will be a little off (fast) cosmetic (there will be more room in your fender wells) and mileage will suffer a little bit

but!!!!

you can buy alot of diesel for the cost of a set of tires, I go for them and use them until you situation changes

I would go for it. Like LBARTLETT said about the cosmetic and speedo. Learning to live with the cosmetic part is up to you, but, if the pcm hasn't changed from the second generations, you should be able to the OBDII and adjust the speedometer with the computer.

Ah, now I got it!! Go for it , then see if you can correct the speedo with a Smarty or something to compensate if you want.

Member Jeepr informed me that you can go to your local dealer and have them adjust the speedo according to tire size. It's a lot cheaper than buying a Smarty when money is tight.

Cheaper still, grab the tires and use your GPS for your speedometer...

Plus with your high 6th gear ratio in your automatic, you still won't be buzzing the engine on the freeway. The only other question is the "Per-tire-weight-rating" as opposed to the stock tires. They should be close but check them anyway.

Good one! Only around here I'd have to carry my GPS with me every time I get out of my truck. It's been broken into 3 times in 5 years and I NEVER had anything in sight to offer enticement to a thief. I'll never understand it.
