Hey all,

All the threads I can find for this seem to be 10-15 years old or more, and everyone seemed to end up replying about 4x4s even though the thread was asking about 2 wheel drive, so I figured I'd try asking again. Is anybody running a 255/85R16 tire on the stock 16" wheels on their D250? 2 wheel drive. I plan to get the Moog 7226S springs put on first. Any issues with rubbing? If so, how bad? I wanted to get the 3" coil spring spacer, but the only mechanic I trust refused to do it, citing safety reasons. If I do it myself, the truck will never run again. Thanks!

I had a set of the 255s test fitted after the coil springs were put on. They "fit", but not really. The tire shop said that there would probably be clearance issues at full lock when the suspension flexes. Shame too, because they looked great on there. I went with the stock size in a BFG all terrain T/A KO2. Still looks great. So much better sitting up higher in the front.

That's great that you were able to do a test fit before commit to buy. Sometimes it looks like it will work until you load the suspension! I think this is why there are a lot of wheel spacers being used pushing the tire beyond the legal limit outside of the fenders! With tires hanging so far outside the fenders causes a serious safety issue with throwing rocks and debris up into the air! Wish they'd start cracking down on this!

Yeah, I see that a lot here too in GA. Seems that everyone thinks they need to run a 14.50 tire haha. I must admit, it does look good though:D
