Competition Mud Bog or Sled Pull: You decide

Hey guys, didn't know where elso to post this. I had a little f*&% up tonight. Long story short, I inadvertantly climbed a moss rock wall and made a dime size gouge, about a 1/8 inch deep in my side wall of my passenger side front tire. Bridgestone A/T Duelers 33x12. 5x16. 5. Now-Worry or No Worry?

No worry be happy!!

Kalaehina... That lava rock is sharp and obviously took out a small chunk. . My concern would be what internal damage or structural was done to the side wall as a result of the hit?? I would recommend removing the tire, inspect the inner wall for cracks or signs of separation. . If you see something, replace the tire, and If you have road hazard warranty no problem... If you don't see anything & don't have road hazard warranty, you can put a radial tire patch over the the inside area of the tire larger then the ding on the outside damaged area. This will help streghten the damaged area. On Oahu, as you know posted hi-way speeds don't exceed 55 MPH, and most normal driving speeds are much less, so heat and speed affecting the dangers of blow-out are minimized.

Steve

P. S. Bra, if you was on da mainland and driving 75-80 MPH+, 750 miles at a "crack" definely change out da tire. .

:D Aloha

A few questions are: do you see either white under the black rubber or belts/cords. if so dump the tire, it's not worth taking a chance. OR, if you are just plain uncomfortable with the damaged tire, then change it out. of course, if you have a fair amount of wear on your tires, do yourself a favor and replace them all, not just one.

Cut in the tire didn't look as severe as it did in the dark last night so I'm a little more relieved but think I will change it anyway ASAP for piece of mind. Thanks for all the info and advice guys. Steve (HeberRam), you gotta be from the islands, I can tell from da pidgin:D . Aloha guys!
