I have 18x9 wheels ready to go and don't want to do a leveling kit. I am looking at either cooper st maxx or toyo rt or toyo mt...I figured I would pick the brain of TDR and try to educate myself :)

Would you go for stock height and wider, slightly taller and slightly wider, or taller and stock width?

I would go higher profile with normal width (not too narrow not too wide) for better ride.

I would say for best ride, 265x80x18 or 275x80x18 or something close to that if you can't find those sizes.

Traction? Depends what you're going through. Snow might call for a different optimal size than mud.
In snow you want to sink down to the hard surface below. But you don't necessarily have a hard surface below mud & don't want to sink.

Edit: deleted. Most of what I wrote had to do with stock truck with stock rims. You are using non-stock rims I think so it doesn't apply. But I cannot seem to delete the image I attached.

One thing to consider is the spare. There is not much extra room for a larger diameter tire.

What size tires are those?

The person who owns the truck and originally posted the picture said they were Toyo AT II LT285/75R18. I recall he said they did not rub.

I ran in to a guy that had the 295-70-18's Goodyear's on stock 6 into 12 spoke wheels as shown on the Pic above from Badunit. They looked AWESOME filled the wheel well just enough. Did Not rub or mess up the Speed O meter or gear ratio too much. Only down side was they are only available in an off road tread.

When I was looking for tires two years ago I took notes that said 295/70R18 will fit as a spare. I cannot verify it, though. It looks like it would be a tight fit. 285/75R18 are taller and most likely will not fit as a spare.

Both Toyo and Cooper offer that size in their All Terrain tires as well...not just the more aggressive patterns.

I bought Pro Comp Sport A/T, 305/60/18 they are just a little smaller Diameter , speedo was 1.5 to 2 mph fast. went to the dealer for other work and they re-flashed so it is right on now Fuel Trophy wheels. Love the look......
