Hello, the tires on our truck are terrible. We only have 14000 miles but they need to be replaced. They are more like road/street tires. We live in SOuth Dakota. I need something with grip!!!!! What would you guys recommend that won't ruin my ride and is long lasting. It is my understanding there are not alot of choices. I don't want to make the wrong one since these jewels are so expensive. Thanks

What came on the truck? I am surprised that they would be worn out so soon. My '03 QC came with the BFG "Rugged Terrain" tires and they went 40k miles pretty easily. The other common tire to get is the Michelin LTX M&S, those should easily last 40-50k.

The wanting more grip part I can identify with. I immediately replaced the M&S tires on my '05 with a set of BFG All Terrains in 285/70-17 size, load range D. I have also have had these same tires on my '03 QC for about 25k miles now. I am pretty confident that with regular rotation I should be able to get 40k+ out of these tires. They carry about the same load as the smaller stock tires that where E rated but do it with 65 psi instead of 80. They are also rated for snow like the dedicated snow tires, this is a rarity for an AT tire. They work extremely well here in the winter wonderland of Colorado. The slightly larger size looks better too IMO. They are spendy but I think well worth it.
