How to safely store your 10mm sockets and wrenches..(Facebook)

I wouldn’t believe it if it didn’t happen to me. While getting ready to head for work this morning something caught my eye. Sure enough, something in my brand new Cooper XLT tire. I checked the air pressure and the tire was low so I didn’t monkey with it. I stopped at the local tire shop where I purchased the tires. What was stuck in the tire tread? Not between the treads, but through the meatiest part of the tread. A 4oz wheel wt. Streight in. Not angled. Streight in. Something new every day.

Oh, I saved all right. Nobody would believe me otherwise. The clip is missing but it’s former location is obvious. Plug and patch. The rebalance isn’t good. I’ll do it again myself at my buddy’s shop later this week. I’m hoping it’s the balance and not structural damage to the carcass.

Not long ago, My C60 Chevy with 900x20s picked up a 3/8 bolt the same way. It held air for a couple of days before it went flat. Front tires were old, so a new pair of Sumitomos for about $660. Years ago, I picked up part of a master-type lock "head-on" at a KOA with my sig truck. Stuff happens
