What's the largest tire that will fit on a stock 2001 4x4? I would like to use a 16x10 or 17x10 wheel size. Hoping for @ 33x12. 50 or larger.

Just be really careful with wheel offset with the 2001. I am in the same boat and getting a wheel that works without sticking out too far is tough.

I'm not positive, but you may have a tough time with any 10" wheel without at least a leveling kit. Also, if you are only going 12"-12-1/2" wide, I personally wouldn't mess with a wider wheel than 8". Especially if you offroad at all. Again, just my opinion.

If I ever replace my wheels, I will go to an 18" size and most likely an 18x 9 with 5"- 6" of backspacing. 5" is the most common, so you'll have to do some shopping.

Hope that helps,

Dave

I've got 35's on 16x8 MB wheels. They give about an extra inch backset from stock. Also have a 2" leveling kit. No rub unless going over a good-sized bump at >5mph with wheels turned. Even then, it's the tire tread face hitting the inner fender liner at the back of the front wheel well, and does not do any damage. You can see them in the readers rig gallery.

With stock backset wheels and 12. 5's, you may get slight rubbing on the frame at full lock.

315 75 R16 procomp ats

2" tuff country leveling coil spacers up front

factory 8" alum. wheels

only rubs on the control arms lock to lock when turning tight

36" 305/85R16 on 2002 w/ stock rims. Rubs only on full turn lock. From everything I understand this is the absolute tallest tires you can go w/ stock suspension. A 75 series in this same width is about 1"-1½" shorter. 315/75R16s are shorter, but slightly wider, ~35" tall.
