Tire Warranty on New truck Question

I just noticed that my new 06 has tiny, tiny, cracks on the rear tires. It had a manufacture date of 7/05 so I am guessing that it sat for a while and that is the reason. Can I just take it directly to the tire shop that carries Michelins and ask that they be replaced under warranty? Or do I go to the dealer?

you can try the tire shop first but they are more than likely going to tell you to take it to the dealer. Then GOOD LUCK. I worked at a chrysler dealer and the customer had a "real problem" and the service director told me to hide the tire and forget about it. The customer got screwed! Plus the tires are only warrantied against mfg defects and follow the 3yr/36k warranty.

My Goodyears started showing small weather cracks in the sidewalls at 4,000 miles and not even a year old. Went straight to the Goodyear tire dealer who called Goodyear and had them replace all x7 tires at no charge. /// I also just had Michelin adjust out some 265 75 16's that had 30,000 on them and were 3yrs old at Discount Tire. Michelin had them measure the tread and came with 30% wear. They gave a 70% discount on x4 new tires. Michelin has a 6 year warranty on materials and workmanship and they just charged me for the tread wear. These tires were also showing cracks in the sidewalls. Your dealer will usally send you to the tire dealer for tire issues. The problems I used not to see with tires until 7 yrs or better are common now days,guess the quality of workmanship and materials are a thing of the past. Im looking at Toyos for my next set.

If you look in your warranty packet you will find brochures from the tire makers (all possible brands)that will tell you to go to the tire maker for any warranty issues
