Hi I got a problem and I was wonderin if anyone could help me figure out what it is. I just replaced my tires with firestone load range e 265/75/16's and the old tires wore really bad at the outside edge, I was wondering if this is an alignment problem, or if this was just from not rotating the tires?? I replaced the upper and lower ball joints and the hub bearing assemblies on both sides along with all the steering components. I am familiar with the upper balljoint offset kits but can someone please help me with this before I ruin two more tires?

I sounds like you might have too much toe out.

How many miles did you get out of your old tires? Do you rotate them every 6000 miles or so?

Hi I didnt rotate them because they were allready so far gone when i got the truck, and then I got a flat in the back and so i had different tires on the back than the front so i kinda gave up on those tires. I got about 4,000 miles out of the old tires which were half way gone when I got the truck. Every alignment shop ive brought the truck to said that angle was within the specifications so i dont know whats going on.

WELL. . I had a problem with the right front new tire wearing out on the outside edge in about 5,000 miles. I had to replace it. I had a front end wobble for about 1 month before I fixed it... . Too late... the tire was shot. So far I found a loose right front lower caster adjustment bolt which I replaced and a loose track bar at the frame end (Luke's Link). Here my thread:

Hope that helps some. Time will tell if its fixed or not.

I don't know. My guess is the very loose caster bolt caused it. Check the torque on it (95 ft-lbs front lower or 130 ft-lbs rear).

My other guess is the toe out is bad but that would just be an alignment problem. Get under the truck and have someone turn steering wheel side to side and look for play in anything especially the track bar frame end.

We are both in the same boat here... . HELP! Maybe someone more knowledgable with front alignment with chime in. As you can see I replaced shocks, control arm bushing, steering stabilizers etc. . Truck steering is tight now after tightening the Luke's Link on the track bar at the frame end.

Get under your truck and check for loosenes first.

Hi I replaced the following:

Track Bar, drag link, tie rod (entire thing), calipers (both), rotors (both), Hub bearing things(both), front u-joints (both), axle seal on pass side, shocks, brake lines(master cylinder back), both wheel cylinders (which distroyed the shoes), the rear axle seals (distroyed second set of shoes), and now there is still something wrong with the front end and I dont wanna distroy any more tires lol. We need someone that works in an alignment shop in here lol

The guy I bought the truck from plowed with it and f-ed up the front end bad ohhhh and the abs computer went bad for some reason and I had no speedo for about a month lol

Man! I thought I had problems! They are nothing compared to what you been through! Hang in there and someone may have an idea for you. My old tires were worn when I got the truck 3 years ago and we replaced the front ones one at a time and now 6 at once after putting on 40K miles (got it at 120K and now has 160K). I know my tires never worn this bad before, so I think it was the loose parts that caused my problem. Time will tell.

Good luck. Hope you find a solution. I'm new at this front end stuff. This is my first attempt at doing the repairs on front suspension myself other than shocks. I'm thinking of putting in the DSS and maybe crossover steering from Thuren. This front end is great when its tight but miserable when its not.

Be patient and buy cheap tires till its fixed.
