I have always run BF Goodrich A/T's I just love the looks and longevity of the tire. I also have heard it is one of the better ones in the snow.

Well I usually get 70-80k on a set (1/2 ton trucks) now I've got 295's on my 2500 and at 41k they are noticibly worn. I might be able to get another 5k out of them but that would be pushing it.

Are these trucks harder on tires ? It is my first 2500.

I am looking forward to replacing the 295's with 305's though! I will probably due shocks at the same time.

No experience with BFG's but my OEM Michlens went about 40K, the Bridgestone 285's went about 33K, I hope the 305/70 Goodyear's do better.

PS. They do look good on the truck.

Yes these trucks are harder on tires. Weight-Weight-Weight. Take your old 150 add 1000 lbs to the front end and see how long the tires last. Friction because of weight when you are turning (at the same speed) is double when you add 1000 lbs on the front tires. Even rear tires wear faster as they are called upon to haul more weight and accelerate and decelerate more weight too. :D

Took the OEM Michelin's off at 48K... still had at least 10K left in them. Replaced them with 265 Toyo Open Country's on new 16x8 rims... won't make that mistake again! I'll be lucky to get 30K out of them. I did a search on the Toyo's and got about a 50/50 mix of good/bad responses. Guess you can put me in the "bad" column now. The Toyo's are extremely sensitive to pressure also. If I don't keep them right at 50 front and 45 rear, it drives like poop. I'll be shopping around next summer!

I was happy when I just bought my new tires. . I calculated the odometer, plus the offset for the bigger tires, and I got 41k out of my last set of BFG A/T KO's... Not bad, considering I haul cows, in large amounts, in overloaded trailers. . gotta love that road hazard warranty!

tires

don't know about the 2500s, I've been running the michelins cuz they stick so good on ice.

I've heard the boys that switched to the 19. 5s are getting the mileage.

I can't get um cuz of the way my flatbed is.

My 19. 5's easily doubled the mileage longevity over the 16 inch tires and wheels. Also lower rpm's at highway speed and no flats in 120,000 miles.
