Off Roading Roll bar?

So are there any aftermarket drivelines out there that are strong enough to handle our power? Got an 02' with a 5 in. lift and 37's and i cant seem to keep one under there! Keeps just snapping the yoke and the u-joint! Its kinda getting old! #@$%!

Is it snapping them at the axle or the transfercase? I would suspect its from the amount of lift also, not just power. Is it possible to clock our transfercases so they are lower to compensate for the lift? Another, more involved method would be to clock the front axle forward to line up the driveshaft better, but that involves cutting off the knuckles and springperches. A better driveshaft would probably be the best bet.

Buddy of mine just installed a 271 case and had custom shaft with bigger u-joints and yoke at both ends... ... ... ... . no more problems.

Obviously the lift puts the driveshaft at more of an angle and running big tires will put more stress on the drive line. I think the correct fix is to clock the front pinion (but its costly), one easy attempt to fix it would be to have a heavier front driveline made with atleast 1410 joints in it.

Skyjacker makes a clocking ring for the 241 transfer case and is almost mandatory on any lift over 3" on a 2nd gen truck. This will relieve much of the pressure on your front CV joint. If that won't do it, the next step is a stronger driveshaft, the best place I know of is High Angle Drivline-Call Jesse at 530-877-2875 out of Cali. Good luck.

Does the clocking ring move the t-case back (thus require mods to the driveshafts)? Or does it replace an existing piece of the t-case so the driveshaft lengths don't change?

Thats strange since Ive seen TJ Macpherson (TJSHotrod here) who runs 37's with a 5 or 6" lift sled pull and drag race with his 24v and about 650-700 HP with minamal or if any problems with the drivetrain that im aware of? I think he was running high 12's in the 1320. He also had a 6spd in it that he converted to an auto.

The ONLY people to call:

CTM Racing Products

Their stuff is have been the only ones that Rockwell tested at what the material was supposed to. These are the only u-joints that we have not snapped. Tell them that Keating Machine sent you!

i hung out with and dynoed with tj in sac last december, he has a good set up, i went there to run my last engine in the 03 and lost my tst on the dyno and still made 457 rear wheel h. p. with 4 cylinders on 30lbs of boost and no drugs or water... . his turbos wouldnt light on the dyno so he couldnt get an accurate reading, i will dyno with him again with the set up im putting together right now, it will be interesting... :D

TJ has had his share of driveline issues, not sure if it was front though.

Personally I want the universals to be the wink link, its chaeper :-laf
