A new turbo AND intercooler!

I have a 2008 6. 7 it has been to the dealer many times for the check engine light. I am getting so tired of going to the dealer for what seems to be just a bandade fix. Does anyone know of a way we can resolve these issues. We all payed a fair amount of money for these trucks and don't have the reliablity that we are looking for. I am very satisfied with the truck when it is running like it was suppose to. Also with the CEL coming on so many times and having to go to the dealer what happens when the warenty run out will it still be honered because of a recurring problem?

I own a 08 5500 with 120K miles... the CEL has come on twice. . once with a bad crank sensor and the other time with a fuel flow issue... (plugged 2 micron filter on the frame).

But I've not been back to the Dealer in 90K miles to let him do any updates... we just drive it... .

You don't tell us what the dealer is finding or doing... are each of the times back for the same thing... if so find another dealer...
 
Delete and you should be very happy. I deleted everything at 40,000 miles and now have 110,000 miles and the only thing I paid for that warranty would have covered was a camshaft position sensor. Atleast I think it would have warranty, maybe not.
 
You didn't provide sufficient information for anyone to offer meaningful advice but as you probably know, the new trucks with ISB6. 7 engines need to be driven on the highways and loaded at least part of the time in order to avoid repeated soot buildup.

Mine has been 100% reliable and troublefree as have most other trucks.
 
I run the h--- out of it around town and on the highway I only use it when it is loaded.

How do I go about deleting???

My CEL came on for the EGR performance code (P0401) and now has turned itself off? Haven't done anything, has the EGR cleaned itself? Had the turbo cleaned last week too!



I'm considering a full delete if this keeps up.

I did mine at first with a fooler box for the stuff in the exhaust and the Edge/juice to clear codes on start up for the egr/egr cooler. Now I am running the Smarty and nothing in the exhaust. I have block off plates for the egr and egr cooler. I have pictures on here somewhere I will try to find.
