Looking for say, a 265 all-season tread in Load range E. Anything new out there?

I wanted General Grabbers, but they are d's

Tried searching the Net, but its hard to find REAL tires.
Any suggestions?

I plan on using Uniroyal Laredo AWT's on my next trip to the tire shop. I'm not sure if they are a E load rating but I know the smaller sizes are such as 235. The AWT's are a little more aggressive than the AWP's but don't have as much whine as the look. I had a 89 Pord POS with 33X10. 50's and the noise was not noticible. (Of course in consideration for what they were on #ad

I got a set of Michelins at Costgo last year and the total bill was less than $500.

Gene,

I also got a set of Michelins recently that I use in the winter. They are load range E and slightly taller than the original Goodyears.

Cooper tire company also makes an all-terrain Load Range E in the 265. I'm still on my original factory Michelins, but plan to try the Coopers at my first new tire set as I have had good luck with the Cooper Tires in the past. Also, American made, if you are interested in that. The Cooper tires are a little more aggressive than the Michelins, but not by much. I have not been able to locate a good aggressive tread, without going to the extreme aftermarket mudders, etc. Keep us posted if you find something good.
I've also noted that SOME, but not all of the Load Range D's are more heavy duty than others, and have a weight rating within a 100 to 200# of the Load Range E's, so, you might want to look at the Manufacturers load rating in addition to the D vs E category. That will give you more options.

Gene, I've got the tire for you. A set of Interco Super Swamper Boggers. You will never get stuck, Sheryl will think they are cool. You would be able to out run mcbride in the mud.
Or maybe some Ground Hawgs, they get farther than 10 miles with no signs of wear.

MGM, My buddy at Bob Sumerel Tire in Columbus Ohio can get you B. F. Goodrich Radial All-Terrain or Mud Terrain in load range "E". I know they make them, cause I asked him, it's my favorite tire. But I think only the Michelins will give you longer tread life.
A recall on Wayne's rims ? ROFLMAO

This signature short enough for you?

In my experience, if you want the best tire out there, then there is only one choice ... Michelins LTX, period. Best sidewall, tread wear, and ride out there. The factory Goodyears wore out within 30K, then I bought a set of Cooper Discover ... they were even worse 28K (and sidewalls were weak). I'm at 91K now and the ride, tread, and traction are great. Thats my $ . 02. (also the opinion of a few mechanics I know).

JEFF 24,, you have been chatting w/ cuda too much, he has turned your head too mush!
CUDAS RIMS HAVE THE RECALL! I heard.

I have had NO GOOD LUCK with Coopers.
Which will dig more?

BF Goodrich or Michelin?

I've had better luck with the Coopers than others are reporting - but, this rig is much heavier. Thanks for the Heads Up - I'll think carefully before I buy!

I've got cooper discoverer 245/75 r16 all terrains load E . I've had them on fer 18000, and thanks to McCord tire & auto in lafayette for inflating them to 80psi in -5F weather, and this group of bad people, my back tires are down to the bars, and the fronts arent too far behind. I'm getting a tire that wont last longer to put on for the winter. 33" Remmington Mud Brutes. I'm getting them for free. This is from a friend, no extras, or deals.

You might try and search for information on Toyo tires. My relatives swear by thier lasting impression. The load range E currently on my fathers Phord (couldn't talk him into a Dodge) were so loved by him, he had them transfered from a trade-in truck to his new one. They had 30k on them and he says they have a 60k warranty and will go well past that. I currently run BFG mud terrain T/A's on my ranch truck (brand F) and they have 3 side walls but are range D. I like them but they are a bit noisy, even over the sound of a pumped up 429.
Good luck

OK - Mark - I'll up my offer to $600 for the tires and wheels. I don't really need them, but they are going to dry rot if you don't sell them soon. That's twice as much as I see others offering.

Go to your local tire shop that does business with your local friendly Dodge dealer and try to buy a set off take-off's from an '00 or '01 RAM.

Ditto the Michelins, far better than the Goodyears & Firestones I have had over the years.
