Time to replace trailer tires, can anyone tell me what load range tires I need on my gooseneck. My trailer has a load capacity of 10k lbs. How do I determine what load range tires to buy to safely carry max load all the time.

24' goose neck flatbed w/ 2-7k single wheel tandem axles

currently load range E 7. 50/16 tires labeled single tire load 2755lbs. at 75psi:confused:

I put the Goodyear G614's load range G on mine after the Chinese junk I had continued to blow. In 10K miles not a single problem. However with the price of tires continully going up, I put 2 new and 4 used on mine and I try very hard to keep them covered when not in use. I constantly inspect them for cracking and tire pressure.

I have Firestone Transforce "E" tires on my gooseneck. Canadian made, good price, good reputation as far I can tell. Mark

What ever you do, DO NOT USE the "ST" type tires, nothing but junk in all brands (my opinion).

Use the "LT".

I have Nitto Dura Grapplers LT245/75/16 E with over 120k miles and 2 yrs old in June.

They have worked very well until they get down to about 4-5/32, then they start to seperate.

I am replacing them with BFG commercial T/A, seems to be good too.

If I had single wheel axles, I would use at least 10 ply "E", just to be safer. Your weight wise may be just asking for 6 ply "D" tires.
