I'd like to know the largest tire I can put on my truck. Its all stock, please see my sig.

If this question has been asked and answered, please don't flame. Just point me the right direction! Thanks.

Don't know if they are the largest, but I have 265-75 on stock steel rims on a 2 wd truck.

edit: They do not rub on anything.

I have 265/75s on mine also, when I turn tight each way they rub on the sway bar,I have 2nd gen wheels mabe thats the problem. unclemarc

I'm sure you could go with a 285/75-16, at least, if you keep the stock offset. I read recently that 2nd Genners have a bigger offset, putting the tires closer to the suspension than stock 1st Gen wheels. One thing to consider is the width of your rim vs tire.

You could also go to a 19. 5, say a 255/75-19. 5 Check out tire heights on the sites that carry 19. 5 wheels and tires. I'm thinking in the neighborhood of 33-34" (?)

i have 285/75/16 on stock steel rims. i think an 305 75 16 is about the biggest and not rub . it all depends if you want wide or tall, you can go taller but not wider

My truck had 285/75/16 on stock steel wheels when I got it. It looked like they rubbed on the fender flare a little. I lifted the truck 3" and I'm still running the same tires, no rubbing. It's the same hight as my buddys stock 01' 2500 4x4. There are a few pics. in my gallery.

Okay, thanks. I like mud terrains and I'm going for a little wider and definitely taller than stock. I've had them on two different trucks ('05 Dmax and '98 F-150) and they performed great on snow, ice, and wet roads and I'm probably going with the Cooper STTs. I was hoping for at least 285/75R16s. I'm going to try to get my new shocks on tomorrow night after work and then this week get new tires. Thanks again! :D
