Back when I bought the truck there was a lot of chatter about the General Tires. I couldn't understand, I was having none of the issues. Balancing or wear issues.

Well, it just took a while... I've been doing mixed duty with a camper and a 5th wheel. Been using the camper most of the time lately. I noticed some vibration so I had the tires balanced. I took a trip down to Anaheim a month ago after having the tires balanced. The vibration was better but still there. Visually the tires looked good. I figured it probably had something to do with the shocks being shot so I replaced them. Next trip was out to Morro Bay and the vibration was worse. Anything over 64 MPH and it felt like the rig was going to shake apart. Back to the tire store for a re-balance. The found a front tire separating. 19,000 miles. I probably had another 20,000 miles of tread left (or more).

I'm sporting a new set of Michelin tires now. With the shocks and tires it feels like a brand new truck! Sure glad the tire didn't shred on the way home, that would have been a mess!

My POS General's on my 11 HO Dually made it 15K with a big fat front tire separation. When I ordered my 15 I ordered a set of MS2's at Discount Tire to be waiting for install when the new Dually showed up. 200 miles I had the new tires installed and sold the set of NEXENS for $650. My MS2's were $1,278 out the door with WA State sales tax included.

I had the same thing happen with the Nexen tires that are on my 2014 dually. At 28,100 miles the left front tire developed a bulge in the tread area.

Sorry for that! But it confirms I did the right thing by installing a set of MS2's at 200 miles and selling the NEXENS.

When towing 33K combined out in the boonies I sure don't want to deal with tire issues.

My truck came with Generals. A couple of months ago I noticed that the tire on the left front was wearing the inside edge badly and the truck was pulling to the right. I thought the alignment was bad but it turned out to be tread separation. I put a pair of Toyos on the front and continuing with the Generals on the rear. I have always had good luck with Mopar OEM tires in the past but they were mostly Michelin's.

My Nexons on my 2016 lasted about 15K. The wear was very rapid and the final straw was finding a cut in the sidewall, not even sure what from. I only do roads and forest service gravel roads. So BFG's new KO All Terrains.

I'm still running Nexens..... 13k miles, no problems yet. I've been eyeing the MS2's for quite a while and will probably put some on the fronts in the spring for sure.

I switched over the Goodyear Wrangles at 45k...better tread, still quiet etc...I have 19000 on my wifes Rover LR4...Continental tires...threadbare....switching them out to wrangles as well...2nd set of Conti's that didn't last 25k
