We bought some Michelin Cross Terrain SUV tires last week for my wife's 4Runner and it got me thinking about tires for my truck. Those SUV tires made a miraculous difference in the ride in her vehicle; like night and day difference.

My tires (Michelin LTX A/S 265/70/17's) have 25k on them now and the tread looks like it did when I bought it. Anyway, looking around I don't see many tires with the same ratings for my truck. I like the tires that are on the truck now but wanted to see if I could find something that will last longer. I'm not complaining about the treadlife on these but I figure the longer the better.

Make sure to stay with an "E" rated quality tire. I've had good service out of Michelins and Kelly Springfields in the past. Not such good luck with Cooper. By the way how often are you rotating your tires. Sounds like you may have the factory tires a long time. I hope mine do as well.

There are few if any tires that last longer than Michelins. I have 235/85-16 Michelins on my '94 Motorhome, they are the originals with 45k miles on them. They are starting to crack from age but still have good tread on them. They carry a HUGE load. I have gotten nearly 50k a set out of my Firestone Steeltex A/T's. I rotate them regularly and they are on my work trucks so they are worked pretty hard. IMO, you have some of the best tires going. If you want a more agressive tread try the LTX A/T
