I'm running 305/70/17's on 17x8 wheels... Basically 33/12. 50... . I have a 2. 5in. lift up front only..... They fit just right. I couldn't fit 35's without rubbing when turning even with the lift. The downside on my set up with the tires is there is noticeable sidewall flex when your on the highway at speed. A wider wheel probably would've helped, but I didn't want the wheels sticking out too far.

That would be me! :D

I have 35x12. 5x17 BFG Muds on 17x8 steel wheels with 5" of back spacing. I do have a 2" leveling kit also. I am very happy with the set up. The tires will rub on the mud flaps a little at full turn but nothing to really be concerned about. Let me know what else you want to know.

Beer Man... . It's a Skyjacker lift... . DMKelly... . If you meant 315/70/17 on a 9in. wide wheel I don't think it would fit without rubbing when you turn. I don't rub now, only at full lock when I hit a big bump while turning and that is just barely. 315's are basically 35in. tires. They will rub when turning unless the lift is at least 3 to 4in. 's..... This is with an aftermarket wheel and 4. 625in. backspacing. Guys are running 315's and 305's with the stock wheels with little to no problems.

Lou

I meant the 305's. I want the wheel to stick out a little because I like the look and I'm going to run bushwacker fender flares. I don't want to lift the front if I don't have to though. The setup I am thinking of is 305/70/17's on Classic Mickey Thompson 17x9 wheels.

I'm running 35 x 12. 5 - 17 with a 3 inch leveling kit by Pro-Comp. There is no rubbing. I'm running 17x8. 5 Weld Cheyenne 8 wheels so the tires stick out a bit but look good.

erslll, that's good looking truck, do you have any from the front or back pictures? I like the look of the tire sticking out a little bit, wondering if back spacing makes any difference. I dig the black wheels, thats a good look!! Trextoo, you got any pic's, you say they stick out, can you post some pic's. Thanx guys!

Trextoo, where did you get your 3" Leveling kit? I tried looking online and couldn't find anything online. What did it cost?

Beerman, I just added some pics from both front and rear to my website. They are pics from when I had 315 ATs but they are the same size and on the same wheels. And no, don't ask why I had ATs, long story and always gets me all riled up telling it. As far as backspacing goes, I think with less backspacing you are more likely to have clearance problems. Obviously, my Bushwackers help to keep the tires covered so if you don't have flares, they would stick out some with 5" of backspacing.

Click on the www box at the bottom of this meassage. Look in the Tow rig album. I believe they are the last 3 pics.

Found the pic's, Thanx. I'm definety going with the 35x12. 50's. My Truck is identical to yours stock, so i know now what it'll look like. I think i will go with polished alum. wheels although i do like the black.

The only problem with alum. wheels is finding the right backspacing. I think most of the alum. wheels have about 4. 5" of BS. I am not positive but I think that will cause more rubbing.

I wouldn't go any less than 5" on my truck. I know I have seen lots of guys with the 315s and 2" leveling kit say that they don't rub at all. Maybe different from truck to truck. I dunno. Maybe the MTs are a little bigger. I guess I am not an expert. Best solution would be to find a tire dealer that would mount up a tire on the wheel you want and try it out.
