OK Guys,



Can anyone tell me how to title a crewcab truck that is bought from the military surplus with no title?

If you bought it military surplus, didn't they give you a property release form, forgot the the actual term for it at the moment.

It is going to very depending upon state, but the military must issue you a form with purchase that is equivalent of an MSO (manufacture statement of origin).

I have not yey bought one because I was worried about this issue. Now that I know waht I need I will start looking.

I read somewhere that Gov. Liquidation was going to quit issueing the SF-97 form. That's the one that you need to register. That was in the spring, now I see they list " no SF-97 available" on the website. But I think that the article also said there was a way to get it, I just don't remember how. :{

Put a first gen dash in it (one that you own and have a title to) and forget it no one will ever no.

Doc, with my luck I would get the Cop who is diligent and wind up in jail. So what do you do if you don't get a titke and no sf97 paperwork?

You should check with an impound yard. Not a police impound, but a private one. When they tow vehicles in and they are never claimed, they have a way to get a title. I bought a Jeep without a title with no way of getting one and a buddy of mine that used to own an impound yard was able to get me a clean title. It takes a couple months and cost about $300, but maybe one of those places would help you out.
